NetSuite - Magento Connector - Video - Introduction

Hello everyone, today I am going to talk about the integration between NetSuite and Magento. To integrate these two systems, there are four areas we need to take care of. We need to handle all the data, we need to take care of the transactions, we also handle all the customizations, last but not least, the maintenance of the two systems is very important. So to begin with, this is actually admin panel for Magento store and I already installed the NetSuite Magento connector in the store so you can see all the features are listed under the menu so lets go to the connector configuration first, alright, so first let’s have an overview of all the possible features.

All the features are already grouped into different sections so this customer and product section basically takes care of all the data handling. the next section is about order configuration, this is the part where all the transactions can be handled and configured. Beyond that part, if you do have some special fields or any custom lists in NetSuite you can configure it also in the customization panel. The last part is about the synchronization between the systems and the maintenance process. To begin with, let’s try to connect the systems you will go to the credentials tab and you will put in the email and password and etc, and then you click validate.

Great! It’s successful. Let me save. So now, my Magento store is already connected to my NetSuite live account. So before I jump into the details of all the configurations, I want to show you how the system works, so the essential idea of the system is based on a very important feature called record maps. So let me go to record maps, so here is an example of all the records I have in my current demo store, so you can see the idea of this record map is that it is a very vital method just to map all the objects in magento and all the objects in NetSuite one by one. So you can see in this map, I already have a map for customer, for product, I also have maps for transactions like order, shipment and invoice. This looks like a very complicated system but actually, all these processes or majority of these processes are taken care of by automatic processes. So in most cases, we don’t really need to worry about this panel. With this in mind, let’s go back to the configuration. So throughout this demo, I’m going to take care of the four areas one by one. So our next topic is how to handle all the data. I’m going to demonstrate how the customer and product can be created and configured in Magneto so let’s proceed to the next video.
