NetSuite - Magento Connector - Video - Data Synchronization

So to begin with, we have no products in magento in NetSuite we have some products here. So let me run the script. Alright, so a very similar idea, by default without timestamps it’s going to synchronize products for the last 30 days. So there are 18 products, they are already being created. Let’s give it some time to finish. Almost there. Alright it’s done. So now, if we go back to the magneto panel. Let me refresh this page. You can see all products being created here. Also, let’s check the record map. You see as promised, all the products are mapped one to one. Let’s look at one specific product. So, name, description, weight they’re all in sync. The important thing is also the price, you can see based on different customer groups the price can be different. You can also see the tier price based on different customer group tiers, prices are also different. So in a future section, I will also show everyone how this process can be automatic and maintained by the backend process but for our demo purposes I want to show everyone you are able to manually trigger a synchronization of a product like in this tab. So under the NetSuite connector tab, there are two options, you can basically update price quantity, this is actually very important if you have multiple stores in your NetSuite system, like if quantity is being updated over there, you might want those information to come back to Magento frontend as well.

The other part is a general update, this basically covers a lot more fields beyond price and quantity. So as a practice let’s say that somehow our Magento price is off sync with NetSuite’s. So let me give you a very different price. And let’s say, I lost the tier price and grouping information, so our inventory is different in Magento and NetSuite as well. Save the product. So now this product is out of stock and the price is very different. So what we can do is that we go to this tab and we click update price/qty. You can see the quantity is back and in stock and all the prices are exactly specified as given in NetSuite. so In addition to this, especially for products, most of the cases, we may have to have a lot of special customized fields and in this case, I also created a tab called demo customization so for example especially if you have to deal with configurable products, you may have to have a lot of special attributes which are not mapped in the default case. Those cases will be covered in the customization section, which I will demo in a video later.

In conclusion, the product and the customer can be created very comfortably and in a very easy command like fashion. So with that I will conclude this section about all the data points. The next time we are going to talk about order configuration and order transactions.
