System Admin
The System Administrator we are looking for will be instrumental in building and managing complex multi-server and multi-data center hosting environments and IT infrastructure. This position will be instrumental in providing cutting-edge hosting solutions as well as support the needs of the rest of the organization. You are required to have thought leadership to improve and innovate.
Who We Are Looking For
- Experience with complex high demand web hosting
- Extended experience with Linux/Unix/BSD operating systems
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Desktop and Windows Server operating system(s)
- Ability to produce written documentation and perform technical evaluations
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow directions and established procedures
- An interest in providing first-rate IT solutions and assistance
- Desire to work in a team setting with an open mind and respect for alternative approaches
- Strong communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
What You’ll Do
The selected candidate will be involved in the following activities:
- Develop scalable IT strategies and solutions
- Create implementation plans and setup and configure systems
- Setup and manage heterogeneous distributed backup system
- Large scale server cluster planning, setup and load testing and optimization
- Troubleshoot and research solutions to optimize hardware and software bottlenecks
- Performance and load testing of servers
- Engineer dynamic fail-over system spanning multiple data centers
- Setup and configuration of desktop computers in support of IT Desktop Management projects and activities
- Adjust and install computer equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with desktop operating systems and application software
